Sensex up marginally; Asian cues mixed

MUMBAI: Indian markets opened marginally higher Tuesday, on mixed cues from other Asian stock indices. Investors also seemed to be taking a breather, after the sharp rise in the earlier session.

At 9:03 am, the Sensex opened the session at 18,571.73 against Monday’s close of 18,560.05. The Bombay Stock Exchange rose to trade at 18,586.10, up 26.05 points or 0.14 per cent. The 30-share index touched a high of 18,601.70 versus a low of 18,571.69.

Nifty was up 6.85 points or 0.12 per cent at 5583.80. The National Stock Exchange benchmark opened at 5575.90 versus the previous close of 5576.95. The 50-share index moved between 5591.40 and 5571.65.
